Arianna Huffington has been evangelizing the importance of work-life integration since she collapsed from exhaustion at her desk in 2007. But for the most part, companies haven’t made many changes in the expectations they have placed on workers, until the pandemic forced them to rethink the way we work.

In a recent Signal Conversation, Huffington was joined by P&G chief legal officer Deborah Majoras, who is working with Huffington’s company, Thrive Global, on plans to overhaul certain work assumptions. “People’s resilience muscles have gotten very thin and their balance feels very, very out of whack,” she said. “There are changes we need to make.” 

“I can’t tell you how important it is to have the chief legal officer of a big multinational company speak like that,” said Huffington. “That’s kind of game changing. And it shows the shift that the culture is going through.”
